Changshu Economic & Technological Development Zone

Changshu Economic & Technological Development Zone (CEDZ) is a national-level development zone founded in 1992. It is located in the center of Yangtze Delta, 90km west of Shanghai, 40km north of Suzhou and Kunshan, 40km east of Wuxi and faces Nantong across Yangtze River.

 

Through 20 years’ development, more than 500 foreign invested enterprises, with total investment of 25 billion US dollars have been attracted to the zone, among which 56 projects are invested by Fortune 500 companies and 30 projects reach investment over 100 million US dollars. A number of well-known multinational companies have established production and R&D center here, including Chery Jaguar Land Rover, Qoros Auto, Benteler, Klockner & Co, UPM, Johnson Controls, Plastic Omnium, AAM, Novartis, Danieli, Pilkington, Sumitomo, Sharp, Daikin, etc. Currently, CEDZ is focusing on the five industries of Automotive, Machinery, Logistics, New Material and Innovational industry.

 

Changshu Port, located in CEDZ, is a national-level international port with both container and bulk cargo capacities. Changshu port handled 400,000 containers and 72 million tons of bulk cargoes in 2013. The Customs have branch offices in the port area and all customs clearance can be done directly within the confines of CEDZ in one working day.
