China Hour in Munich

Dr. Ximeng Wang 王茜梦博士

The Germany China Desk of Bird & Bird in Munich recently held the seventeenth edition of its ‘China Hour’ lecture series. This event, titled ‘Tips and tricks for separation in the employment relationship – Best Practice Report’, drew wide attention from Chinese companies in Bavaria and attracted approximately 25 attendees, including high-ranking representatives from the Consulate General China in Munich, CUB and Chinaforum Bayern. Senior representatives from Air China, Autefa Solutions, Suntech Power, CCTC Group, Amazilia Aerospace and Going Public Media AG were also present.

After an introductory speech from the Bird & Bird China Desk Munich, partner Ralph Panzer started the seminar by explaining the early pitfalls while establishing employment relationships. He discussed, alongside practical examples, topics such as the nature of employment contract, fixed-term employment contracts, warning letters, low performance, probation period and how to terminate an employment relationship. The whole seminar was interpreted by Ximeng Wang, member of Germany China Desk, Bird & Bird.

The lecture lasted for almost two hours and was very well received. Ralph Panzer and Ximeng Wang answered many questions raised by attendees during and after the lecture. This event ended with a lively get-together among attendees and the lawyers of Bird & Bird.
